I recently travelled to New Zealand with my husband for his sister's wedding. What an amazing country and inspiraton to create in every medium is freely available everywhere. There isn't a nook or cranny of the country that did not inspire me to come back and create a menagerie of beautiful things and I couldn't wait to get home to start painting)
However, having said that, we came back and immediately started packing for a move closer to our work. In doing so I discoverd old artwork and a host of goodies and ideas I had stashed away and forgotten about for new arts and crafts. It was rather an emotional journey, finding the old pieces and not having the heart to throw it away, but at that the same time seeing how I could improve or repurpose....
Now I have to find everything again as my art materials are all squished into a room that has been designated as ALL MINE :). I have so often bemoaned my fate of being so far away from decent art suppliers and materials, but I never truly realised how blessed I was until I had to start packing up my hoards of brushes and paints and goodies and "stuff".
What I have lost I will regain again and if I don't have materials for a certain piece, then I move on to another medium to create in. There are no limits to the creative spirit.
I now live in a home that has an amazing huge garden with spectacular sunsets and sunrises, flowers, birds, trees, bugs (LOADS OF BUGS) snakes, creatures and critters. I am refreshed and inspired. BUT mostly all of you out there keep me going. So no matter what I am surrounded by, I eagerly await your creations to fuel my creative spirit even more.
Until I have unpacked and can get back into the flow of thins, I will savour each and every post.
