I was inspired to draw this Sassy Cat with gorgeous, flowing hair when I shampooed my hair this weekend

In hindsight, her hair looks detached so I will add bangs. Right now it looks like her head is on fire!

I am thinking of placing a background before "painting" with colored pencils. I am open to suggestions as to what the background should be.

I hope you all have a great Monday ahead of you!

Cute - I like how this drawing was inspired by shampooing your hair!  It's funny how inspiration can strike anywhere.  I can picture this sassy cat in front of a colorful abstract background, or maybe she's admiring her hairdo in a mirror and there's patterned wallpaper behind her.  It will be fun to see what you come up with. :)

Thaneeya:   An abstract background sounds intriguing...I will defintely play around with that concept. Thanks.

Connor:  Yes, I am on a "cat" benge...can't wait to see what you'll create. Cats are so much fun to draw but, for variety, I will eventually switch over to some other intelligent creature.

Hi Carla - Great drawing!!!!  Do you draw this out first on canvas, or on paper?  I still draw stick people ...which I must say still do not look like people....maybe I'll try a whimsical animal sometime.

Hi Annette! Thanks for the compliment...unfortunately, I am a huge procrastinator: I submitted this post almost 1 year ago....I think I complete it now :-) I always start on regular paper then trace to watercolor paper or bristol board.

P.S.----I cannot wait to see your whimsical animals!   :-)

Hi Carla .....how cool.....can you trace on to a canvas?  Hmm....you have me thinking .....I totally suck at drawing....still draw stick people...so would love to be able to get a little more detailed...but I paint on canvas...so I probably need to find a way to draw it...then be able to transfer that to canvas...then paint....hmmm....I may have to google that one!  Can not wait to see your finished artwork!!!!!
