Painting my paintings for the summer gallery.

Well I have started to paint the paintings for my gallery next summer. Already am feeling the pressure! Anyway I am doing a few boat paintings over the next while and I decided to use some retardant in my paintings so I can blend the water a bit better. Can't say I like the stuff. It didn't blend well with the acrylic paint and left a rough surface in comparison to the plain paint. I learned to paint without it and I guess I will continue to paint without it.

I am doing PEI Dirt Paintings and since PEI is an Island I figure I have to have lots of sea and landscapes as the company name suggests. It is going to be a bit complicated to set up but once it is done I am on my way! I can still do the other types of painting and have a small home decor section as well as what is on the web. I don't know where this is all taking me but I know I can't just keep painting paintings lol!

Most artists here sell prints of their paintings and have a few paintings on their site and perhaps I will do that too later but right now I just want the originals out there. They do sell the prints over and over year after year which is nice but I have to paint so that doesn't work for me. I have to paint at least three or four times a week and that is a lot of art! Now I usually have several paintings going at the same time. So this is going to prove interesting for 2014!

It seems the more I paint the more I have to paint. My husband told a friend on the weekend I was driven to paint........

I wonder if that is a compliment?  Anyway got to make hay while the sun shines!
