I've had a love affair with color all my life! As far back as I can remember actually, I've been coloring. Whether it's been coloring in books, or on paper, over the walls and now on furniture, color never stops exciting me! Different color combinations, funky patterns, bold designs, color is like a drug.

In 2003, my partner and I started a decorating/painting/wallpapering company called 2 Women and a Paintbrush. While in people's homes customers would ask, "Do you paint furniture?" Which we would reply, "We paint anything!" So, a year ago The Decorative Paintbrush was born.  We took all our knowledge, techniques, and talents and just transferred them to a smaller scale and created pieces of art to match what we were doing on the walls in people's homes. It didn't stop there though, we opened an Etsy store; thedpb, started taking on custom orders, I started blogging regularly about my transformations, and we attend various craft/art shows in our area. We've had so much fun with this!

We've even started building our own pieces! Either out of scrap wood or by fusing 2, 3, or even 4 pieces together! The possibilities are endless. I've worked in a variety of mediums over the years and this has been the most rewarding for me. It's a culmination of a lot of things, I guess you could say it's mixed media, although its primarily acrylics. We use fabric, wood appliques, belt buckles, knobs, fringe, beads, blah, blah, blah! You name it; we've probably used it to jazz up a piece of furniture!

So, between our 5 kids and two businesses life is pretty crazy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Please, drop by our blog, creep around a bit. I hope it makes you smile and inspires you to get painting as well. I know you have an old table or chair in the garage that's calling your name... Come on, don't be afraid!

I just looked at your blog and it`s amazing the things you make furniture!  I especially love the harmony table.  It has a very soft side to it that I like.

Yes I do have a blog.  Here is the adress:  www.krysthle.blogspot.com. It`s mostly my paintings and some photography of places I`ve been. It needs a bit of updating.  Hope you like it, and thank you for adding me as your friend!  I was just thinking how my mother would die and go to heaven if she saw what you are doing.  When I was younger, she used to refurbish and paint old furniture.  I`m going to send her the link to your blog so she can check it out.  Good day!
