Well, beware the Ides of March. Spring is almost upon us. I've been painting steadily since the first of the year and have gotten pretty good feedback on my efforts.
I've watched what seems like a million painting tutorials, and for the most part, they have been pretty helpful. and best of all, nobody has told me to quit painting. So. I consider that a definite plus.
That's actually not a really telling statement, because everyone on The Art Colony is always so supportive and helpful. I'm truly glad I stumbled upon it.
I've always heard you need the right tool to do a good job, so I've bought a plethora of brushes and paint. And it is true that my newly acquired little fan brush has made me a happy woman. But I've seen dozens of beautiful landscape tutorials painted by artists with what looks like a brush you would use to paint a dresser.Perhaps more experience will bring me to that.
I've done about 21 pictures thus far and the one I posted yesterday, is the first one I've painted on an actual canvas.I guess I've finally decided I'm at least good enough for that.
The wind is whipping outside , so I guess it's really March.
