So this last week we went to a small town and saw a few local type artists. I had a painting in mind that I have been wanting to do that had splatters of all sorts of colors all over the board. I had not had a chance to do it as I have been extremely busy with a few projects both professional and personal. So to my surprise I am at this gallery and I see the image I had in my mind that I was going to attempt! I would have purchased it as this artist had the exact same idea as I did but the painting was a whopping 3,000 dollars! Yikes! Anyhow, I still want to do it, but I am not sure when I will get the time. Has this ever happened to you as an artist, you run into a piece that you were planning on doing or something very close to your plan?

Not with art, but I wrote a children's story years ago that I was trying to get published. Several years later "Toy Story" came out, and as I was watching it, there were so many similarities it was kind of weird! I'm not saying someone used my story.. mine was very simple, and Toy Story was amazing! But.. for me to try to get it published after the movie came out would make it look like I was trying to copy the movie! Lol!

I have seen some paintings that were similar to ideas I had in my head, but not as close I'm guessing yours was! Wouldn't it be nice to get 3 grand for a painting!?

I know, Some of the paintings were so highly priced! I have never sold a painting, I just give them away! lol

Pretty cool about the book, I tell you, some people can read minds!
