Hello Angela,

Thank you for your kind comments on John Wayne, it is one those images which I wanted to paint for such a long time and got there in the end.

If anyone has seen the film will never forget this image.

Thank you for all the very thoughtful comments.  I always read then.   I often think about them for awhile before responding.  The flow on the site is a little awkward for me.  Not being able to respond to a comment in a stream.   My level of alarm, here, where I live, regarding what is going on politically, I can hardly contain.   I lose a lot of sleep over it.  I work in the medical field, w underserved people,  at an orphanage- foster care organization and in the child prison system at the epicenter of the US opioid crisis.   The kids typically have no families because of parental drug problems.   There is a crisis of factuality, disregard of expertise.  I’ve always been scientifically minded, with all the nuance.  I don’t know what you do when people think there are alternative facts.   I have two kids w serious, chronic, life threatening at times conditions which have taken everything I’ve got w our just wonderful health care here.  A life support system for the pharmaceutical and insurance industries.  I have watched people die due to lack of access to health care.  I had the flu last Jan-feb and have not recovered. Over the years, here in the US, my family had paid 1.000- 2,000!$ in medication copays per month.  When my son was a teen and went into heart failure- organ failure my insurance had a $30,000 a year out of pocket.  I just got a statement from my instance company currently and it’s about the same.  I understand why my coworkers don’t go to the doctor.  It is insane.  Right now I’m taking my son to an emergency room in another city, hoping for adequate care. (Someone else is driving).  To be continued.

Thank you for making your comments, then genesis for the artwork work was me walking in my son room and noticing the shaft of light shining on mirror as I looked at and I thought this would make good artwork. Took about two weeks on and off.

Glad that you like it.

Thank you for your lovely comment - I live in a low wetland region of France and am surrounded by waterbirds! Fortunately I love photography too. We have so many storks in this area, they are becoming a nuisance as they leave a mess everywhere and nest on the lamp posts!! Mxx
