Thank you Cindy for your kind remarks. I think the quality of the pastel paper you use is very important. I've tried many different kinds and have come to the conclusion that Canson Mi Tientes pastel paper is one of the best as well as Pastelmat. The Canson paper has a rough side and a smoother side and either side can be used. I always use the smooth side. You can find both of these papers on Amazon. Poor quality pastel paper just makes your drawing on it that much harder and you won't get the quality artwork you're looking for. I use pastel pencils and for larger areas, I use the chalk sticks too. But you can do an entire drawing just with the pencils. I'd love to see you do one in pastel sometime. Your work is just amazing to me.
Thank you my friend for your lovely comment and like on my Unknown Beauty portrait. I really enjoyed drawing that one. Still learning a lot about doing people portraits but I think I will always love drawing the animal portraits more. You take good care now...God bless you!
Cindy...I hope that you start to feel better soon and as you take day to day that you strengthen. Sounds like you have been through more than a lifetime of pain and suffering and I wish you all the strength in the world as you commence 2019.
