Inspiration abroad

I recently travelled to New Zealand with my husband for his sister's wedding. What an amazing country and inspiraton to create in every medium is freely available everywhere. There isn't a nook or cranny of the country that did not inspire me to come back and create a menagerie of beautiful things and I couldn't wait to get home to start painting)

However, having said that, we came back and immediately started packing for a move closer to our work. In doing so I discoverd old artwork…

I had the privelage of travelling to Europe with my sister recently for nearly a month. we went to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Moscow, Vileki Novgorod and St Peteresburg.

I had always thought my art was not good enough and even though it was enough for me, not enough for an art exhibition.

My sister is an Artist, Interior designer and is a Director at a design college in Cape Town, so we were both very interested in building design and art etc.

The museums, were of…

Soooo I haven't painted in an eon or two. Other than using my paintbrushes for cake designs and other crafty  doodlings, nothing serious has been happening.

Hubby surprised me with an easel, paints, brushes, canvases etc for my Birthday/Christmas. I got the hint...

Currently just trying to get back into the rythm of things. Have done two quick pics. One acrylic and one watercolour. Was looking for inspiration everywhere and all over and ... found some in the hoards of…

So glad you reviewed and liked my work.  Would love to see New Zealand, too.. it makes me think of Hobbits and such.  It is like the land of dreams.  When are you going back?

thank you very much for your kind comments . I like doing these very quick paintings as I see things happening during the day . I did see that Quentin Blake the illustrator of the Ronald Dahl stories has just had a new exhibition and is RE illustrating some of the book

Thanks Darryl for liking my work Misty Morning. I just saw your latest experimental work; it is very beautiful. I have separately commented on your two recent works, on your gallery page.

Thanks Daryll I enjoy painting the coos! Might do a snow one soon. The Russia one was up for a charity auction - art on a postcard to support children's mental health. Not sure if it sold but pleased to say that 3 of them did - raising over £11 for charity. Now I have made cards and am using any profit to support the homeless so I hope in that way to use my talent for the greater good!

So far I am in profit and will be donating this money before Christmas!

Keep up the great art work!
