Hi there. I'm placing portrait paintings in acrylics I have done lately of members of my family. As is easily seen I love color and try to fill my canvases with as much color as possible--sometimes too much. I manage to get the likeness of the people I paint, but I'm not satisfied with the way I work. I would love to learn how to paint these portraits--or any other paintings I do--in a much looser fashion. I managed to do it once, in my portrait of my grandson and his girlfriend, but have not been able to repeat this and at the same time capture the likeness of my subject. I'm also putting a few paintings I did of where I live in the city. I loved doing them, but here too I would like to learn how to paint more loosely and how to make my brushwork look really cool. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you Flo for the great comment on my Little Red VW watercolor. My family and I are well, and I hope you and yours are also. Take care,P.J.
