It has been a long time since I posted here, but I have not quit painting in the meantime.  I hope I have improved somewhat over the years.  I feel as if I have moved in the right direction.  My goal was always to be a little looser.  I want it to be an impression of "something" but also need the subject to be identifiable.

I now have a place to indulge my passion.

We had downsized from our home to a condo, we had two bedrooms, and I had an area in the second bedroom, where I…

this is one of my best sellers...the old the desert usually, inspired by our many trips down the Baja.  I have painted my husband, Bob, quite a few and someone always falls in love with them and I sell them out from under him.  So now that we are in Kelowna he thought he would like one in the trees...once again...this one is for "bob?".

I wanted to save my steps in painting here they three...and a few more days to go till I am done.  Will post as I…

We have a one bedroom condo in San Jose del Cabo, so I had to be creative when it comes to space for painting. I set up a corner of our deck with my easels and a couple of small tables. It is perfect that I can just leave it set up and can come and work whenever the urge hits me.…

Hi Joyce! Thank you for your nice comments about my artwork. I shared the same passion for horses as you did as a child. I loved your story about sneaking rides on your brother's horse! I hope you do paint your niece's horse for her some day soon - I'm sure she would greatly appreciate it. I think your flower paintings are awesome!

Thanks for sharing that information, Joyce - it made very interesting reading. I'd like to ask you something, if I may, Joyce - when you first started, were you as good as you are now, or did it take you some weeks or months to get to this standard? I ask because I am curious to know if you had it in you all along, so to speak, or if the desire to do it and practice got you to this level.

I've seen them Joyce, and they are simply SPECTACULAR! I'm a huge fan of yours now :-)

Why don't you post them here in Artwork if it is not a lot of work?

Have a great day! Sudha

Joyce, It is so heartening to know that you started as an adult with no prior drawing experience whatsoever (and are SO good!). I'm in a similar situation in that I've never drawn or painted and have just started on this amazing journey.

Thanks - you are an inspiration!
