To me titles are not what makes a person, ie artist, lawyer, doctor, etc., those are what they may do, not necessarily who they are. So with that in mind, I'll start my introduction with what I purport to be as a fellow human being: having a good sense of humor, realist with a vivid imagination, female, married for nearly 35 years now, mother and now grandmother! I hold to high moral standards, while still seeing my many faults. I tend to look for the good in others, and I ask many questions, it's the only way I know how to get to know others. I love to learn & teach others.
As to what I do with my creative side..I am mostly self-taught, recently within the last 5 years now. I started believing I do have artistic talent and now I don't want to stop. I had dabbled in painting off and on, encouraged it in my children, but didn't think I could draw a decent stick man. Through an art group I was encouraged at even my most simplest attempts, which spurred me on to try more. Then the day I first sold something was thrilling, it had only been hung up at the cafe for a few minutes when someone bought it. What was special was that it was an accomplished artist who bought it, and hung it above her drawing table to inspire her. WOW.
It is fantastic to be able to be with the start of the Art Colony. It comes at a time when I am working to get back into the swing of things with regards to making art. I am currently take an online course called the Art of Action, intended to help us find the way to "doing", making action happen. The first steps were to write out goals, and one of mine was to find new ways to connect with the artist world.
