Hi and thanks for stopping by. Here is a little bit about me if you are interested.
I've been painting oils for at least 15 years and acrylics for the last 5 years. I don`t have a particular style, but my favourite is abstract. I like to try everything at least once, and I will easily get bored doing the same things over and over. This is why I have such a variety of themes and styles. Some of the artworks featured in my list are exercises, but I like them enough to share. Maybe they will give you an idea! Also, everything dates from the last two years. Yes, I've been keeping busy!
In addition, my main obsession is with technique. I like to try new ones all the time. Some techniques I`m good at, others I will never master, but it`s all fun to me! I also have to admit that I haven`t touched a tube of oil paint in two years, unless I was cleaning my studio. I've been really focusing on acrylics. There is so much versatility it makes me crazy (in a good way, of course).
On another note, I`m a part-time university student (for over 5 years now) in environmental studies. It`s definitely my other passion. From understanding processes behind our planet to managing environmental resources to saving the planet, i`m in! I`m not perfect, but I do more than my share when it comes to the environment. I also volunteer for the Big Brother Big Sister organization, it`s so rewarding.
Furthermore, I love to travel. Whether it`s a road trip, a cruise or a planned three week getaway, you can count me in (if I have the money!). I get my love for travel from my parents, who love to travel and often invite me to join them still today. We have loads of fun together.
Finally, I`m a cat lover and animal lover. Everyone I know teases me about this, because I`m over the top in love with all of them, especially if they are furry. For example, if I was the Prime Minister (I live in Canada) or a President, against the wish of the general population, I would get equal rights and health care for animals. But what can I say? Maybe I`m crazy, maybe I`m years ahead in my thinking!

Now, there isn't really such a thing yet as Shabby Chic Art, but being the explorer I am, I love to make-up new styles. I just did a Google search for it, and the term sort of exist, but the only thing that all the pictures have in common is that romantic, soft, pastel hues look! So, I'm still going to own it! I've been on a painting break for a while, but a few months back, in august, I had to make some paintings for an exposition, in which, among other artist of my region, I was…READ MORE
So it’s been a while. I`m so busy crafting greeting cards for Christmas bazaars that I don’t get too much time to write anymore. I was reminded today of my blog when someone in class asked me if I had a blog (if I can remember right?). Any how, here are two mix-media works of art I made on October 30,
2011. See my previous post on metal working for details on techniques:…
Here are some ideas that you can take to create whimsical animal paintings. The imperfectness of the painting is what makes it so enchanting. Happy accidents become interesting features and clashing colors and doodles convey a sense of whimsy. For each painting I have done, I give examples of techniques that can be used to achieve a similar look.
