Have you tried Artisian water mixable oils? Maybe these will not give you a reaction as the harsh chemicals are not present in the use or clean up. Acrylics are nice if you use the mediums that keep them open long enough. I know Golden Brand has a new OPEN acrylic they just came out with and gives you a longer period for the day to work on them, then there is the interactive acrylics to rewet them for blending days later. Keep painting, Sandra.
You art work is stunning. I hope to one day reach this quaility of work. Oh and thank you for commenting on my Sunflower painting, it was my first Surresism painting from a dream I had. I am new to painting as of 2007 and self taught, I did do a mural in my kitchen in 2001 using house paint just to see if I could. My dad has encouraged me to try painting and I found I do like it. My dad started learning to paint but he uses oils, and I had thought one day I woudl try artist paint and see if i could paint. My husband bought me some paints when we moved to West TN and pushed me into trying it, I started out in Acrylics but quickly moved on into the Water mixable oils Artisian by Winsor & Newton and just about solely use those now. Regular oil paint is out for me due to allergies to the solvents, and migraines from the odors.
Might I ask what your favorite mediums are to work with and why you like them, what are the pro's and con's of using them?
