Hi there Theresia, when I started I started with one stroke painting. This is a technique that you can easily find online, just google one stroke painting or Donna Dewberry. She is the inventor. You use a flatbrush and dip one half in say red the other half usually white. Then you stroke it back and forth on your palette. Dip the same sides in the same colors again. The colors should be clearly one half red one half white. Dip and stroke until the flatbrush is threequarters filled with paint. Then you hold the flatbrush with the white side up and start stroking a petal with the white side uppermost so the petal's edge is white the bottom red. But the technique to actually paint the petal is hard to explain you would have to watch some videos. Here is one for example, I hope its ok to cut and paste vides on here if not my apologies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyi-Y2ATjoA
