Greetings Art Colony Members,

On October 23, 2010, I gave myself a birthday/ retirement gift of a beginners’ drawing class.  I used this class to help me to get over retirement and I’d hoped to learn the basics of drawing.  Over the next year and a half, the women there gave me unconditional support and through trial and error I taught myself to…

I'm afraid the arts didn't intrest me in any way and I didn't  even pick a brush until a bit over three years ago,  what I call my scribble only started a couple of years ago and with them  my little stories  which came as a big surprise  to. Me as I left school hardly  able to read and write. I still struggle due to dyslexia  but spell check helps a lot.

I'm just surprised how much I've  take  to the whole thing  and I'm  now taking it to the next level by have my art on show for 2 weeks at a local art trail

Have a good day

Thank my experience  was more down to sticking a patch on an old canvas  tent  I just used white paint as the glue. I keep Wondering about art classes  because I've never done any and the little bit I did at school was mainly messing about with clay and that stopped at aged 13.

I'm glad that you like my little stories

Thanks for all the likes and comment Dee , i blame my dog rusty for the hole in the painting, rather than walk around a person he loves to shoot between your legs as you're walking which has caused no end of things being knocked over

I'm  begining to think the same way with oils the smell is building up on the house with just  two painting done and i have copd and asthma  so i don't  think i could use it much more.

Because of me and Mrs fox and cubs and all the foxey  visitors on the roof rusty has managed to trample many  of my flowers and knocked a good many pots over so before  i get any more plants i have to find a way of keeping him away from the flowers. I hope your flower hunting goes well

I go to tidy up and always  end up painting and making more of a mess. I got some oil paint the other day which if they took off would give me a whole lot  more mess to deal with.  although in some ways i like them i find the drying time infuriating as i like the speed  of acrylic paints, I'll just use the oils up and forget about them i think, i was medically retired at 46 but it was 10 years  when i was going through a stressful Time that i picked up paint for the first time. now i paint or do my scribble every day and my paint and pens go everywhere with me.

I would worry about getting the name wrong I'm terrible at names and i'm even worse at faces
